Background
A community veterinary hospital located in Quebec that treats injured or ill animals as well as provides sheltering of animals during their treatment.
Challenge
The veterinary hospital had an onsite laundry facility but could only wash one or two blankets at a time with their laundry equipment. With long drying cycles, productivity was a significant issue. Laundry items were piling up, and the laundry room had a rancid odour due to laundry soiled with animal urine and feces, creating an unsanitary situation for the employees. The machines did not sanitize the laundered blankets, towels and sheets, and they continued to have a foul odour even after being laundered. A solution was critical!
Solution
Following a complete site inspection at the veterinary hospital to determine laundry room size and the type and amount of laundry to be processed on a daily basis, the customer’s aging laundry equipment was replaced with state-of-the-art commercial washers, a gas dryer and an ECO3 EcoTex Advanced Laundry Oxidation system that provides hospital-grade disinfection. The result was improved productivity, increased throughput, and improved wash quality! The finished laundry is stain and odour free and disinfected. The customer experiences the bonus of reducing utility costs and experiences longer-lasting linens and blankets. The laundry room is a much more comfortable working environment for the staff and is more environmentally sustainable.
